About The Stillness of the Wind Game

Talma is the last one left in the village, having outlived everyone else who has moved to the city. As she approaches her final years, she continues to maintain a simple way of life, tending to her homestead and surviving on her own. Despite her solitude, letters from her family in the city arrive, slowly revealing the secrets of her past and the story of her life and loss. The Stillness of the Wind is a quiet game that follows Talma on her journey as she discovers her place in the world.

The Stillness of the Wind is a quiet game of life and loss, where one by one, everyone left the village for the city, except for Talma. As she approaches the end of her life, she lives a simple, solitary way of life, tending to her homestead, caring for her animals, and surviving as best she can.

The player takes on the role of Talma, and has the chance to create their own routine. Tasks such as breeding and looking after goats, making cheese from their milk, growing vegetables, collecting eggs, and scaring off birds, all help to build a peaceful and harmonious existence. In addition, the travelling merchant brings letters from her family in the city, which provide a glimpse of life outside the rural village.

The Stillness of the Wind is a follow up to the critically acclaimed Where the Goats Are and has been described as “a quiet rumination on life and loss” and “a tableau”. Players have noted that the game is simple and peaceful, and they appreciate the solace that comes from creating their own daily routine.
