The Alchemist of Ars Magna is an upcoming action RPG game developed by ninetail and published by PGN Games. The game is set in a world where man-made "Gods of Creation" act as guardians, and humans lead a peaceful existence. However, the world is threatened by the "Dust," an entity that calls for destruction and turns everything in its path into dust while contaminating the gods, turning them heinous.

The player takes on the role of a young alchemist who enters the Cagliostro Academy, a school boasting the highest levels of wisdom, to learn and master the art of combat. The protagonist accumulates experience through research, study, and love in a school where many alchemists gather. As the story progresses, the player carves out their own path, growing through encounters and experiences.

The alchemists who wished to carry on the miracles brought upon by the founder of alchemy gather at the Cagliostro Academy. The academy serves as the setting for the game, where players will experience an RPG set in an academy for alchemists. The protagonist gains experience through research, study, and love, in a story that tells the tale of an alchemist who grows through encounters and experiences.

The world's guardians are the "Gods," a number of man-made gods that control the world. The "Dust" threatens the world and turns the gods into heinous "Gods of Misfortune." The alchemists are forced to deal with the former gods that have now been turned into guiding forces of misfortune. The game features turn-based battles, with a maximum of a party of five battling another party of five. The player must use individual skills of each character wisely to win the battles.

To save the world, the player must make a pact with the great Origin. The Origin are five gods of varying attributes who serve as the pinnacle of all gods. The player can obtain a crest, or crystals that contain the power of the gods, by making a contract with them. Crests can be equipped to personal weapons known as ether gear, giving the alchemists additional blessings of various skills. As the player explores Arcaus, they can build trusting relationships with various gods to help their allies get stronger.

The Philosopher's Stone plays a significant role in the game's story. With the Philosopher's Stone in the protagonist's body, they can convert dust and ash into energy. However, the more they use their powers, the more contamination accumulates in their body. If left unchecked, the contamination will eventually become a disaster that could change the protagonist's fate.

In addition to the combat mechanics and story, the game features a synthesis system, where the player can work together with their heroine to create items from alchemy. Alchemy items can support the player in battle and while they are exploring. Alchemy items can also be used to create quest items required to progress in the storyline. The game also features a school life aspect, where the player gets to know their fellow heroine who will walk beside them in the alchemy academy. There will even be times when the player gets to compete with rival schools.
