Zedfest is an exciting and intense game that promises to be the goriest game show ever created. The game features a hardcore 6 player co-op third-person shooter, where players must complete objectives while neutralizing Zeds with lots and lots of visceral gore. The game is set in a world where a group of mentally defective creatures called Zeds have been created by worthless biologists. These creatures have been built with an AI that is even more shitty and designed by underqualified engineers. Some DNA used to create the Zeds was taken from animals such as pigs and horses for that extra enjoyable meaty experience. The sole purpose of these creatures is to stop the contestant from completing their objectives and die for entertainment, making them the perfect material for the show.

The game can be played either in singleplayer or multiplayer mode. Players can play by themselves, but they will have a lot more fun if they had friends. The online leaderboard allows players to compete with other players around the globe. Statistics such as current wave, difficulty, zed-kills, and total score are uploaded along with the player's username. Players can choose from five different classes, each with different attributes and weapon loadouts. More than 30 weapons, grenades, and equipment pieces are available at the Early Access release.

Zedfest features four different game modes. The first mode is the Shredding Machine mode, where players lure Zeds into a shredding machine and watch their body parts fly all over the place. The second mode is the Escort mode, where players must escort and defend Lennart while he's doing something important. The third mode is the Objective mode, where players must collect and destroy the Snus virus. Finally, the fourth mode is the Horde mode, where players must hunt Zeds in classic horde mode. Players can invite their friends and try to reach as far as possible.
