About XO Game

XO is a sci-fi real-time-with-pause strategy game where players must build a fleet to stay ahead of the relentless Harvesters. Each ship added to the fleet grants powers but also drains dwindling resources, forcing players to make difficult decisions in order to survive.

XO is a sci-fi real-time-with-pause strategy game, inspired by the likes of FTL, Battlestar Galactica and Star Control. Players must build a fleet and manage their resources to stay ahead of the relentless Harvesters. Each ship added to the fleet gives unique abilities, but also reduces the dwindling resources. It’s up to the player to decide who lives and who dies in the battle for humanity’s survival.

In XO, players will face procedurally generated runs, with ships in distress, refugees, merchants, pirates, wreckage, caches and shipyards. Resources are gathered automatically, but the ships in the fleet can influence the rate of gathering and storage capacity, as well as the different planet types. Players can also use resources to upgrade ships, create trade items, manufacture weapons and make critical repairs.

The game features a unique soundtrack by Jim Guthrie and a 3D space fleet. With the addition of political scenarios, players must use their wits and judgement to decide how to deal with infighting, sabotage and misunderstandings between factions. They must choose whether to rule with an iron fist, bring opposing factions together, or carefully manipulate them to keep a balance.

XO is a fast-paced strategy game that gives players a chance to make a difference in the fight for humanity’s survival. With the right ships and enough resources, players can take on the enemy and lead their fleet to safety.
