The XCOM 2 game puts you in command of the Avenger, an alien supply craft converted to XCOM’s mobile headquarters. With open-ended gameplay, you will be able to decide where to guide your strike team, how to grow popular support, and when to engage in enemy counter-operations. In order to succeed, you will need to recruit resistance fighters from five different classes, each with its own skill tree. New gameplay systems will offer more tactical flexibility in combat, allowing you to ambush enemy patrols with concealment and loot enemies for precious gear and artifacts. You can also rescue VIPs and fallen comrades by carrying them to the extraction point.

The enemy forces come from powerful new alien species as well as the ADVENT, enforcers of the alien regime that will provide a unique tactical challenge. In order to stay one step ahead of the enemy, you will need to configure and build rooms on the Avenger to give XCOM new capabilities on the battlefield. You can research, develop, and upgrade weapons and armor to fit your preferred tactics. Then you can go on missions around the world, from wildlands to the heart of the alien-controlled megacities, to the depths of alien installations.
