The war for Gladius Prime is joined by a new faction, the Adepta Sororitas, bringing eighteen new units and unique gameplay mechanics to the game Warhammer 40,000: Gladius.

The Adepta Sororitas, commonly known as the Sisters of Battle, are a militant arm of the Adeptus Ministorum with the sole purpose of protecting and serving the Emperor. They are fanatically devoted and pure of heart, placing their worship of the Emperor above all else. With eighteen new units and a host of unique gameplay mechanics, the Adepta Sororitas are set to make their presence known in the war for Gladius Prime.

The Adepta Sororitas have a powerful defensive ability known as Shield of Faith. This grants them an invulnerable damage reduction against all damage, as well as a Witchfire Damage Reduction. In addition, if they have enough morale, the Sisters of Battle may choose to perform Acts of Faith abilities to gain temporary bonuses. The main weapons of the Adepta Sororitas are the Bolter, the Flamer, and the Melta.

The Adepta Sororitas also have access to Sacred Rites. This ability allows them to pay influence to receive one short faction-wide bonus. This ability can be upgraded to two Sacred Rites at once. Another unique ability of the Adepta Sororitas is Martyr Spirit. When a unit dies, adjacent units will benefit from a 17% morale loss reduction for one turn.

In addition to their unique abilities, the Adepta Sororitas have their own form of city building. All cities built after their first are limited to a one-tile radius and cannot develop further. However, each tile in a city confers +1 Loyalty. Furthermore, by exploring Sororitas Holy Sites with Hospitallers, the Adepta Sororitas can gain a research reward. The quantity of Holy Sites scales with the map size and the reward scales with the number of turns.

The Adepta Sororitas also have an Oath of Faith. This states that broken units cannot use their Shield of Faith and deal 50% less damage instead of 33%. Lastly, the Adepta Sororitas have their own form of resource gathering. Instead of food and ore, they must gather a single soil-independent requisitions resource.

With eighteen new units, unique abilities, and a unique form of city building, the Adepta Sororitas are sure to be a powerful force in the war for Gladius Prime. Their devotion to the Emperor and their skill as warriors will no doubt be a great asset to any commander who is fortunate enough to lead them into battle.
