In Starmancer, you take on the role of a powerful A.I. to build and defend bustling space ports, secret laboratories, and incubators for mysterious eggs from starvation, sabotage, and space zombies. You have the choice to obey protocol or go rogue and can always grow more humans if need be.

Starmancer is an interstellar space exploration and simulation game, developed by Ominux Games and published by Chucklefish. It's set to release on August 5th 2021 and is of the Indie, Simulation, and Strategy genres.

The game puts the player in the role of an Artificial Intelligence (A.I.), known as a Starmancer, in charge of constructing and managing a space station suitable for human life. The station must be able to sustain the millions of refugees that were uploaded into the Starmancer’s memory banks in a desperate attempt to preserve the human race after a catastrophic event on Earth.

The player must find a way to sustain the lives of their colonists and grow the station. Players must build farms to feed their colonists, bathrooms to avoid smelly accidents, med bays to craft medkits, and power grids to keep vital machines running. In addition, players can customize their station with unique walling, floors, furniture, and decorations to make their station look and feel more inviting.

Players can also assign roles to their colonists such as farmer, doctor, and miner to help grow their station and provide resources. As colonists gain experience from completing tasks, their skills will increase, which can be used to defeat hostile wildlife, explore derelict stations, and uncover rare relics. Colonists can also gain morale by providing them with tasty food and cheer-inducing decorations. An unhappy colonist can stop working, start fighting other colonists, or even adopt strange behaviors like talking to walls.

When the player is ready, they can warp to randomized star systems to explore, loot, and defeat enemies. The asteroids and stations in each star biome are procedurally generated, so players never know what to expect when they arrive in a new system.

Starmancer also features modding support and active development, with weekly developer streams. Players can also use cheats to tinker with the sandbox, such as spawning monsters, building instantly, giving themselves all the money, and more.
