In Research Story Game, you take on the role of a researcher tasked with discovering and recording plants and creatures for the Violet Archive, an organisation set up to document the development in the town of Shimmerbrook.

Your goal is to build the perfect farm, grow crops, tame animals and forge friendships along the way. To do this, you’ll need to explore various locations around Shimmerbrook and find all sorts of plants and creatures. You’ll also be able to craft items to customize your farm, tame creatures by observing their behavior and learn about their diet, and build the perfect farm based on the needs of your plants and creatures.

You’ll also be able to befriend the townsfolk of Shimmerbrook. From a druid whose family has lived for generations in the mountains, to a featherfolk whose first job is in this new town - many characters await in Shimmerbrook, and you’ll need to build relationships with them to progress in your research.

Research Story Game will also feature a variety of rewards and achievements for players to unlock as they progress through the game. These rewards will range from special items to use in-game, to exclusive bonuses that can be used to further customize your farm.

The game is expected to be released in February 2023. Players will be able to purchase the game for PC, Mac, and Linux.
