The game's storyline revolves around four prisoners of war - Sterling, Rivet, Kurgan, and Wolfgang - who have been freed by a secret British Intelligence Operative known as "Mrs. White." Mrs. White enlists their help in taking down Hitler and his Third Reich, offering them the chance to not only fight for their freedom but also to seize all the Nazi gold they can carry. Players assume the roles of these four heroes and embark on a daring mission to fight the war without rules or mercy.

One of the highlights of RAID: World War II is the inclusion of comedy legend John Cleese, who lends his voice and talent to the game as Control, a British Intelligence Agent working for Mrs. White. Cleese's character ensures that players have plenty of Nazis to fight and ample opportunities to steal gold.
