Miho was born as a fox in the forest of Korea, but now lives in a fictional version of Wellington, New Zealand. She finds solace in the comfy, slice-of-life visual novel game, Please Be Happy, where she can explore her new home and find happiness.

Please Be Happy is a comfy, slice-of-life visual novel set in a fictional version of Wellington, New Zealand. The story follows Miho, a fox-turned-human who has spent her life searching for her person. After arriving in Wellington, she meets Juliet, the owner of a small library, and Aspen, an aspiring novelist. As Miho spends time with these two, she begins to learn more about kindness and the good in people.

The game features over 220,000 words, as well as character designs and CGs by Kobuta, with additional art by adirosa. There are two different routes with two happy endings each, and all of the dialogue is fully voiced in English. The soundtrack is an all-new original score by Sarah Mancuso.

The game begins with Miho's earliest memories as a fox, and the kind human she met back then. She has since changed her name multiple times in her travels, including Gumi, Migu, and Mimi. As a thief, her heightened senses allow her to take advantage of people, but she also uses them to observe human culture and society.

Aspen is a human girl who loves words and stories. She is a barista at the Bellhouse Café and dreams of becoming a successful author someday. She draws inspiration from the people she meets and has an hour-long phone call with her mom every weekend.

Juliet is a vampire who has lived in Wellington for a long time. She runs a library, providing books, wisdom, kindness, and shelter to those in need. She dislikes having to resort to echolocation to find her reading glasses.

Throughout the game, Miho is faced with a series of choices that can lead to different outcomes. She must decide how to use her newfound understanding of kindness and the good in people, while also learning more about her past. The game culminates in a heartfelt conclusion that will leave players with a sense of warmth and satisfaction.
