Old Shadow Game is a variant of the classic Metroidvania genre, based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Players must survive and craft their way through the game, encountering enemies and obstacles along the way.

Old Shadow Game is an adventure-RPG based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel The Lord of the Rings. This variation of the popular “Metroidvania” genre features elements of survival and crafting.

The game follows a sub-mountain creature who was about to be consumed by a volcano, but managed to put a magical ring on its finger in the nick of time. This transported the creature to a vast cavern far to the east, the dungeon of an ancient god. The ring shattered into 15 pieces, and it is up to the player to collect them and rebuild the ring.

The main goal of the game is to collect all 15 shards of the ring and rebuild the forge of the ancient god. Each shard gives the creature a unique ability and helps them to explore the world and defeat enemies. The game also includes a survival element, as the creature can succumb to starvation, cold, or drowning. Crafting is also a part of the game, allowing the player to construct various buildings, walls, bridges, traps, and towers.

The Dark Lord has survived, and his evil will sends his minions to take away the shards from the creature. Each shard is hidden in a different cave, with its own enemies, vegetation, and lighting. There are also 9 bonus masks hidden in the caves, each one giving a permanent effect, such as fire protection, underwater breathing, and enemy destruction.
