Northern Lights is a challenging open world survival simulation game set in the frigid arctic tundra. You must use real-world survival strategies to gather resources, build tools, and hunt while dealing with the dangers of the extreme environment and your own health and sanity. Only if you are able to overcome these obstacles can you make it off the mysterious island alive.

Northern Lights is an open world survival game set in the extreme conditions of the Arctic tundra. Players must use real-life survival techniques to gather resources, craft and hunt while tending to their health and sanity. Can you survive your way out of the mysterious island?

MadGoat Studio, an independent game studio based in Romania, created Northern Lights to test players’ survival capabilities beyond their imagination. In the game, players find themselves helpless in front of the unforgiving Siberian wilderness without any food or equipment. To find a way out of the island, players must embark on a dangerous journey that will test their survival skills.

In Northern Lights, players must monitor their stats such as Hunger, Hydration, Body Temperature and Energy in order to keep their Sanity in balance. Keeping these stats in check is essential for survival as not doing so can have repercussions. Furthermore, players must also be ready to hunt, fish, scavenge for food and gear, start fires, craft items, and most importantly, endure the harsh environment with its predators.

The island in Northern Lights is full of diverse wildlife, ranging from ferocious predators such as Bears and Wolves to non-threatening animals such as Reindeer, Moose, Foxes, Boars and Hares. Players must be careful to not become prey themselves. Not only will they have to be aware of the wildlife, but they must also traverse the beautiful yet frightening environment composed of a variety of locations.

Players can choose between four difficulty scenarios in Northern Lights, designed for different levels of players from beginners to experienced players. Each level presents its own set of challenges and rewards to the player.

The goal of Northern Lights is to allow players to test their abilities in a harsh environment, where their decisions will have real consequences. Players must use their brains as well as their brawn to survive and escape the mysterious island.
