Modern Fantasy - Urban Legends is a captivating turn-based RPG with action elements that takes place on a remote rural island in North America. The game centers around a lone survivor who is tasked with aiding their family and friends against a hoard of evil in the form of undead zombies, hostile animals, and relentless people, as well as dangerous mutant abominations. As the player, you will embark on a journey to find the source of the Zombie Epidemic, save your childhood friend from impending doom, and defeat the waking embodiment of evil.

One of the key features of the game is its turn-based battle system, which utilizes an action timer and meter for pre-emptive strikes and victories. The agility stat determines how often the player and enemies can perform actions in battle. To score a pre-emptive strike, the player must tag an enemy's backside, indicated by a green swirl animation effect. If the timing is correct, the player will score a pre-emptive victory, ultimately skipping the battle. However, if the player runs into a hostile NPC's line of sight, the enemy can score a pre-emptive strike against the player, indicated by the red swirl animation effect.
