Developed by a veteran of the Rainbow Six® and Ghost Recon® franchises, Branch is a first-person shooter that emphasizes tactical gameplay. GROUND BRANCH, a tactical shooter from the developers of the original Rainbow Six® and Ghost Recon® games, is a thinking-man's first-person shooter that provides players with an in-depth character and weapon customization system. With the introduction of the True First-Person System, players are now able to gain a better world immersion and awareness of their surroundings. This system places cameras at the character's eyes and bullets originate from the weapon's muzzle, providing a realistic experience.

The game also features an unprecedented level of customization, allowing players to customize their characters from basic appearance to gear and weapons. Furthermore, the game promotes tactical cooperation and communication through integrated VOIP, 3D positional voice, radio, and text chat. Players can choose to play in 8-player co-op or 8v8 adversarial game modes, or single-player with friendly A.I. and a full command system. Movement and weapon handling are king in this title, as players can take full control of their character with standing, crouching, and soon-to-be-implemented prone stances, weapon postures, leaning, and stepping out.

GROUND BRANCH also offers a range of missions based on real-world environments, and enemies are spawned at mission start with a degree of randomization. The game also features a Ready Room, a physical multiplayer lobby where players can plan their approach, and full dedicated server support. Players can also expect a variety of weapons such as handguns, submachine guns, carbines, assault and battle rifles, machine guns, DMRs, sniper rifles, and explosives, as well as a location damage model where visible injuries are expected.
