Grim Quest is an old school RPG game with an eerie atmosphere and a retro feel. It features hand-drawn artwork, a somber musical score, and lots of written lore, as well as elements of Lovecraftian horror and classic turn-based RPG gameplay. Players will be immersed in a mind-bending dark fantasy world, reminiscent of tabletop Dungeons and Dragons.

Enter the world of Grim Quest, an old-school RPG unlike any other. Set in a dark fantasy world filled with dark secrets, you’ll take on the role of a mercenary who is tasked with defending the city of Ashborne from the hordes of monsters and creatures that threaten to take it over.

You’ll customize your character with a classless system that has more than 50 skills and spells, and select one of 27 character backgrounds that each affect gameplay in a different way. There are plenty of quests to complete and secrets to uncover, as you explore the ruins of a fallen civilization and fight against the mysterious Dark.

You’ll have to manage your character’s sanity or suffer unexpected consequences, and you’ll also have to manage the defenses of the city, endure raids and other calamities. You can also relax or add suspense with 4 difficulty levels, optional permadeath and other adjustable settings.
