In this game, you assume the role of Vix, an unfortunate space mechanic who crashlands on the enigmatic planet known as Karamel. Accompanied by her trusty toolbox Tin, Vix embarks on an expedition to explore the planet's secrets, fix broken machines, and indulge in delicious local cuisine.

As you traverse the planet, you have various modes of transportation at your disposal. You can zoom around on a peppy scooter, clear pathways with a sturdy power loader, or simply embark on a peaceful stroll to uncover all the hidden landmarks scattered across Karamel. Throughout your exploration, you'll be accompanied by catchy chiptunes that add to the whimsical atmosphere of the game.

The main objective of FixFox is to repair machines with unique personalities. From a passionate lawn mower to other household appliances, you'll need to use unconventional tools like coins, bandages, and even glowy bananas to fix these mechanical beings. Additionally, you'll have the opportunity to fulfill a space mechanic's dream by constructing and operating giant mechs to assist the local robots with their peculiar problems.

While fixing machines can be challenging, the game offers a comforting reward at the end of each day: delicious meals. The planet dwellers are hospitable robots who offer a variety of delectable dishes, including homey soups, warm rice bowls, and perfectly safe pudding. Sharing a meal with these friendly robots may also provide valuable clues to aid you in your quests.

What starts as a seemingly simple beacon repair job quickly evolves into a complex narrative for Vix. Along the way, she encounters an estranged brother searching for his long-lost sibling, specialized artificial intelligences grappling with past traumas, and an ongoing feud between two factions on the planet. As you untangle these intricate mysteries, you'll gain a deeper understanding of the cosmic enigma that transcends mere existence.

The story of FixFox takes place in a future where humanity has genetically modified themselves to survive Earth's post-climate change cold atmosphere. By adopting animal traits, humans have acquired fur that helps them withstand the freezing weather. In addition, the ability to hibernate allows them to endure long interstellar journeys. It is within this furry future that the game's storyline unfolds.

The inspiration for FixFox dates back to the early 1990s when the developer's parents brought home the family's first computer, a Polish knockoff of the Atari 8-bit. Armed with an old handbook, the developer learned to code in Basic and developed a passion for game development. This passion was solidified after a visit to the Peace Memorial in Hiroshima, where the devastating consequences of violence and hatred left a lasting impact. From that moment on, the developer vowed to create games that promote kindness and friendship.

With experience gained from participating in game jams and the unwavering support of friends and family, the developer's dream of creating FixFox has become a reality. Driven by a love for heartwarming stories, sci-fi, and adventure games, the developer, Jaroslav Meloun, single-handedly designed, wrote, drew, and programmed the game. The exceptionally talented Aleix Ramon composed and produced the game's captivating music, while the amazingly talented Jana Kilianová created the key art of Vix.
