About Dreams in the Witch House Game

In Dreams in the Witch House, you play as Walter Gilman in an open world horror adventure, tasked with uncovering the secrets of the Witch House in Arkham before the dread May-Eve witch ritual. Your choices will determine the outcome of this story, so choose wisely and unravel the mystery before it's too late.

Arkham, Massachusetts 1929. Walter Gilman, a promising math student, has just moved to the city and is starting his studies at Miskatonic University. He chose the Dombrowski’s boarding house despite its bad reputation, but soon after he moved in, strange dreams began to haunt him. Dreams that threatened to reveal a hideous scheme that could cost him his life and his soul.

Dreams in the Witch House is an open world horror adventure game, where you guide Walter in his quest to uncover the secrets of the Witch House before it's too late. You have two months to prepare Walter for the dreaded May-Eve ritual, and how you spend the time is completely up to you. You can focus on studies, make friends and stay in good physical and mental state, or you can explore the old rumours, read forbidden books at Miskatonic University, and work on your occult thesis.

The gameplay is nonlinear and many of the elements are generated randomly, making each playthrough different. You can expect a unique mix of classic point and click adventure and open world RPG, with RPG elements such as money, health, sanity, and many character stats. You will also experience day / evening / night - cycles and changing weather, several endings depending on player’s actions, 10 - 20 hours of playtime, original soundtrack by genre favourite Troy Sterling Nies, and creeping tension as otherwordly threats intensify gradually.

The game is based on the short story “The Dreams in the Witch House” by H.P. Lovecraft, and features 320 x 180 pixel graphics, plenty of detailed animation and visual effects. It is developed by Atom Brain Games and published by Bonus Stage Publishing, and is expected to be released on 2023-02-16.
