Assassin’s Creed® Rogue is an action-adventure video game that was released in 2015. The storyline of Assassin’s Creed® Rogue takes place during the 18th century in North America, amidst the chaos and violence of the French and Indian War. Players take on the role of Shay Patrick Cormac, a young member of the Brotherhood of Assassins who undergoes a dark transformation that will ultimately shape the future of the American colonies. After a dangerous mission goes tragically wrong, Shay turns his back on the Assassins who, in response, attempt to end his life. Cast aside by those he once called brothers, Shay sets out on a mission to wipe out all who turned against him and ultimately become the most feared Assassin hunter in history.

As Shay, players will experience the slow transformation from Assassin to Assassin Hunter. They will follow their own creed and set off on an extraordinary journey through New York City, the wild river valley, and far away to the icy cold waters of the North Atlantic in pursuit of their ultimate goal - bringing down the Assassins for good.

For the first time ever in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, players will experience the universe from the perspective of a Templar. They will play as Shay, who possesses deadly skills of a Master Assassin, as well as never-before-seen skills and weapons. Players will equip Shay’s deadly air rifle for both short and long-range combat. They will be able to distract, eliminate, or confuse their enemies by using a variety of ammunition, including specialized bullets and grenades. They will also be able to protect themselves from hidden Assassins with their enhanced eagle vision. Players will constantly assess their surroundings and detect Assassins hiding in the shadows, on rooftops, and in the crowds.

Players will witness Shay’s transformation from an adventurous Assassin to a grim and committed Templar willing to hunt down his former brothers. They will experience first-hand the events that will lead Shay down a dark path and set him on a course that will forever change the fate of the Assassin Brotherhood.

Assassin’s Creed® Rogue also features new and improved naval gameplay. Players will cast off in their ship, The Morrigan, and fight their way through the icy seas of the North Atlantic and the narrow waters of America’s river valleys. The game builds on the award-winning naval experience from Assassin’s Creed® IV Black Flag™ with all-new gameplay, including new enemy tactics. Players will defend themselves from Assassins as they attempt to board their ship and overthrow their crew. They will need to fight them off quickly to avoid losing too many crew members. The game also features new weapons, including burning oil, which leaves a trail of fire behind to burn enemy ships, and the puckle gun, capable of delivering continuous machine-gun-like fire. The arctic world is full of possibilities, and players will be able to ram through ice sheets to discover hidden locations and use icebergs as cover during naval battles.

Shay’s story allows players to explore three unique environments: the North Atlantic Ocean, the River Valley, and New York City. In the North Atlantic Ocean, players will experience the cold winds and towering icebergs of the arctic in this expansive naval playground. The River Valley is a large hybrid setting of the American Frontier, mixing seamless river navigation and ground exploration. New York City is one of the most well-known cities in the world, fully recreated as it existed in the 18th century.

Assassin’s Creed® Rogue also includes an eye-tracking feature with Tobii Eye Tracking. Players can direct their character’s journey across North America and the North Atlantic as they focus on the path ahead. The Auto-Pause feature helps make sure players don’t miss out on any action – in the unlikely event they can peel their attention away from the screen, that is.
