In Exception, a game about AI programming, the player takes on the role of aiding units to overcome their opponents in a virtual world. Instead of directly controlling the units, the player must utilize programming to achieve their goals.

Exception is a game about AI programming. Players take the role of an operator named 159, who maintains and oversees a virtual world. As the player, you must discover the hidden secrets of this cyber world. To do this, you must control units by programming them instead of controlling them directly.

This is a single-player game and each level requires the player to think about the strategy and program the units accordingly. To make the AI programming easier, Exception has implemented a simple and unique graphical programming language. This language is simple to use and anyone can get started with a bit of patience.

Once the player has finished programming the units, they will fight automatically according to the instructions. Once the battle begins, players can no longer intervene with the units and if they want to modify the program, they must restart the level. Debugging the program is inevitable and victory can be achieved through failure.
