The year is 2084, and the world is in chaos. Mega Primus, the first of the massive cities that now house the majority of the human population, is in the midst of civil unrest and terrorized by alien forces. Humanity has been pushed to the brink by its own excess, petty conflict and alien invasion, and now something dark and sinister lurks in the shadows of the city.

The world had been devastated by war, poverty, and alien invasion. The remnants of the human population had been herded into cities, the first of which was Mega Primus. But this utopia was shattered in 2084. As civil unrest spread through the city, the people of Mega Primus were terrorized by fiendish aliens. In the chaos, it was up to the X-COM organization to combat the alien aggression and uncover their deadly intentions.

The X-COM organization was tasked with the mission to protect Mega Primus from the alien menace. The city was under siege from an unknown enemy, and UFOs swarmed through the dimensional gateways. X-COM had to battle alien invasion fleets in real-time, as well as combat the alien infestation in real-time or turn-based tactical missions. The organization had to research alien-based technology and create more destructive weaponry in order to be successful in their mission.

In addition to battling the alien forces, X-COM had to protect the city from infiltration by alien sympathizers. They had to wage war on new worlds in the Alien Dimension and protect the citizens of Mega Primus from criminal gangs, religious sects, and even the police. X-COM was the only force that could protect the people from the impending doom.
