Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem is a dynamic hack’n’slash game that allows players to create their own character and customize their playstyle with no class restrictions. Players can explore a shattered and corrupted world filled with ancient secrets and hidden truths as they level up and progress through the game.

Players are one of the three survivors of the slaughter of Castagath, saved by Grand Inquisitor Heimlock and taken to the Republic's Army of the Purifiers. In the military academy, they are trained to become perfect soldiers and receive occasional advice and training from Heimlock, earning them the nicknames “Children of Heimlock”.

Recently, the Brotherhood of Dawn infiltrated the Crimson Keep, prompting the Republican Senate to vote a retaliation act against all known locations of the Brotherhood. Players, along with their two childhood friends Valeria and Edric, are part of operation Dawnbane led by Grand Inquisitor Heimlock, sent to the Coast of Wrecks near the city state of Stormfall.

In Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem, players can freely customize their character development, using a variety of weapons and stances to find their own playstyle. There are three types of resources: Rage, Willpower and Stamina, which interact with each other through the Resource Opposition System. Gear up with common, magical, rare and legendary items, as well as Unique items and rare affixes.

The Rotative Passive Skill Tree allows players to customize their passives to fit their play style, while Skill Customization allows players to level up their skills with their character or alternative resources and create their own combination of skill modifiers. Combat will require players to pay attention to various markers and animation anticipation, using their dodge roll ability to avoid danger.

Players also have the option to shapeshift into one of four Celestial incarnations, each with four different skills and one devastating ultimate. There is also the option to improve their gear by looting or crafting, gather resources to unlock rare missions, face advanced challenges and experiment with new builds. Further, the visuals of the game are highly detailed thanks to the Cryengine technology, and are accompanied by 8 hours of epic orchestral music. Players also have the option to customize their appearance by switching visuals of their armors and weapons, and dyeing them to create their own unique style.
