As mayor of one of the last cities with clean water, you must manage resources and discover new technologies to tackle the global water crisis. Water 2050 is an innovative blend of city building, resource management, adventure, and survival genres, offering a unique experience that can help raise awareness about the water crisis.

Developed in association with the Water Environment Federation (WEF), Water 2050 aims to raise awareness of current practices and technologies that can be used to reduce water pollution and ensure a better future for everyone. A portion of the money raised from the game is donated to the WEF to help fund research, dissemination, and programs that address solutions to the water crisis.

The game features amazing cartoonish 2D isometric graphics and city building and resource management mechanics. You must jump back in time to implement real-world technologies and behaviours that will reduce water pollution in the future. Additionally, you must deal with natural calamities, contaminated areas, and hard choices.

You will have access to 14 real-world technologies to research and achieve water sustainability. You must also unlock special buildings such as stadiums, cemeteries, observatories, and space rocket launch sites, each with special events to resolve. Natural calamities such as heat waves, smog, electric storms, acid rain, drought, blizzards, and sandstorms will also test your ability to keep the city alive.

You will be presented with dozens of events on which to make decisions with an impact on the survival of the city. The game offers an informative but lighthearted way to address the water crisis.
