Trenches is a First-Person World War l Survival Horror Game where you take on the role of a soldier caught behind enemy lines, struggling to survive the claustrophobic and surreal nightmare that is the war. Fight for your life and sanity as you desperately try to make it back home to your family.

Welcome to Trenches, 1917, a first-person horror survival game set in the midst of World War I. You are James R., a soldier caught behind enemy lines, and you must fight for your life and sanity to get back home to your family. The game relies heavily on sound and hearing, as you are equipped with a Trench Whistle which you can use to find clues and navigate the environment. Be careful though, as the enemy can hear your whistle and it can give away your position easily.

The environment is a claustrophobic one, with a fear-inducing atmosphere and intense horror that may not be suitable for the faint of heart. Your only chance of survival is to use your senses, hearing and whistle to guide you, however that also comes at a price. Enemies will be able to hear if you walk on wood as it will make creaking noises, and if you break any bottles. Every corner you turn could be your last, so plan your moves carefully.

You must collect vital clues to better understand and escape the enemy trenches. Your sanity will be tested as the environment can change with your mental state. Hiding is also a viable option, as you can hide in narrow trench passageways and under beds in order to get past your enemies or hide from them. You must also be mindful of making noise as it can alert your enemies, so try to evade them using distractions such as throwing bottles.

Your ultimate goal is to escape the Trenches and return home to your family. The game features randomized locations for clues and repeatability, as well as gut-wrenching moments, enemies that listen and mimic sounds, an inventory system and a picture of your family to remind you of your goal. As you play, the environment will become more hostile and you must rely on your wits and courage to make it out alive.
