Players take on the role of Denam, a young man who has the power to alter the fate of the isles. As Denam, players will have to make tough decisions throughout the game which will have a lasting impact on the world. The game features a branching story-line with multiple paths and endings, so no two playthroughs will be the same.

The classic tactical battle system of the original Tactics Ogre has been updated with improved AI, a quicker battle pace, and new controls and UI. Players can now enjoy the deep strategic gameplay of the game without having to worry about getting stuck in a corner. The game also features a new unit-by-unit level system, which allows players to customize their party’s classes, equipment, skills, and magic to fit their playstyle.

The visuals of the game have been completely revamped to bring the characters and backgrounds of the original game to life in high definition. The game also features fully voiced cutscenes in English and Japanese, as well as newly recorded music with live performances.
