In S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat, the direct sequel to S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, players take on the role of Major Alexander Degtyarev and must investigate the crash of governmental helicopters in the Zone to uncover the truth behind the incident.

Major Alexander Degtyarev is tasked with investigating the mysterious disappearance of a military expedition sent to the center of the Zone. As he ventures forth, he must brave the unpredictable anomalies that have come to plague the land and survive the new threats that have arisen. In the swamps of Zaton, the industrial zones of the ‘Jupiter’ plant, the ghost town of Pripyat and the secret catacombs, Degtyarev will face the fearsome Chimera and telepathic mutant Burer.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat is a combination of action, horror, survival and role-playing elements set in an Eastern European science fiction setting. Players must use their wits and ingenuity to survive the hazardous environment, where the fabric of reality is distorted by powerful energy emissions. With various endings determined by the player’s decisions and new upgrades for armours and weapons, players must also choose to help or reject various characters they meet during their journey.

The game also features an improved A-Life life simulation system, an expanded side quest system and four multiplayer modes for up to 32 players. Players can explore the real-life locations of Pripyat, recreated to provide an accurate experience. Major Degtyarev must solve the mystery of the missing expedition and explore the many secrets of the Zone in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Call of Pripyat.
