The game features a variety of maps with diverse enemies and valuable loot, each with their own unique environment and battlefields. Players must manage resources, research new advancements and expand their kingdom in order to gain an edge in battle. The combat system utilizes troop abilities and powerful magic, as well as taking advantage of the high ground and bottlenecks on the battlefield.

Epic Faction Wars

Players can choose to play alone in an epic single player adventure, or challenge their friends online or locally to an honourable duel. An in-game level editor is also available, allowing players to create their own adventures using the same tools the developers used to create campaign and skirmish maps. The game features four factions that are locked in an epic conflict. Arleon are knights of old, Rana are ancient tribes, Loth are necromancers and Barya are mercenaries and inventors.
