A young boy, hospitalized and struggling to come to terms with his own story, takes a journey with his mother to a beautiful fantasy world. Along the way, he helps his fellow patients find closure by walking a mile in their shoes, teaching him valuable lessons and helping him to find his own peace of mind.

Rakuen is an emotional adventure game that tells the story of a young boy living in a hospital, who takes a journey with his mother to a fantasy land from his favorite storybook. In this world, the Boy must help his fellow patients by interacting with their alter-egos and completing a set of challenges. The Boy slowly begins to realize that his neighbors are plagued by secrets and struggles that are mysteriously tied to the hospital.

Rakuen features a heartwarming story filled with characters, as well as a unique non-combat adventure that combines whimsical dungeons, eery room escape puzzles, and dialogue-based mysteries. Players will travel through each character's life to learn about their unfinished business and help them through it. The soundtrack is also a highlight, featuring multiple vocal songs that are closely tied to each character.

Players will also be able to collect items, build friendships, and go on humorous quests for strange creatures in the fantasy world. Ultimately, the Boy's journey helps the patients of the hospital find closure by walking a mile in their shoes.
