During a stormy night, Barney Bubbs, a 9-year-old runaway orphan, seeks refuge in a nearby shed. Unaware of the horrors that await him, he soon finds himself trapped in a pocket dimension, known as the "Fun Depot," inhabited by the peculiar Circleheads. Despite their seemingly friendly demeanor, these sphere-headed beings have sinister plans in store for Barney.

The Fun Depot is a labyrinth of childhood nightmares, where each room is a twisted manifestation of a different aspect of childhood. Barney must navigate these rooms, guided by a tablet that allows him to monitor the Circleheads and their movements.
