About Moonflower Game

High Alchemist Nika Skylar is tasked to save the kingdom from a magical threat, accompanied by a mysterious detective. If they do not act fast, the kingdom will be thrown into darkness. Skylar must use her alchemy skills to restore the source of the kingdom's magic and protect it from the danger.

Moonflower is an all-ages, BL Visual Novel developed and published by Cats on a Lilypad Studios, set to be released on 2023-03-25. It features a hefty 56,000 words, an alchemy minigame, one love interest, and gorgeous art.

The story follows High Alchemist Nika Skylar, an acclaimed alchemist invited as an honoured guest at the Moonfaire. A state held festival to celebrate the rare occurrence of a silver moon, an event that occurs only once every century and fuels the magic of the kingdom for the next hundred years.

Unfortunately, a derailed ritual, a murder, and a traitor occur during the festival, plunging the kingdom into darkness. Nika Skylar must investigate the incident and protect the world’s core of civilization, known as the Fabled Moonflower. Accompanied by a princess and a mysterious stranger, the clock ticks as Skylar must act quickly before it’s too late.

The main character of the novel is Catboy, or Skylar, a member of the elusive Felinis tribe. He has trained as an alchemist his whole life, and after an accident in his youth, he developed an alchemically augmented prosthetic arm. He is commonly known by his family name. Skylar is a chatty and socially awkward individual, but he is surprisingly brave and determined when it comes to challenging tasks.

Skylar is also joined by a mysterious stranger, who appears out of nowhere with an offer to help. He won’t say who he really is, but he seems to have a deep connection to the Moonflower.

Throughout the novel, players will have to make decisions and choices that will ultimately dictate the outcome of the story. Will they be able to save the kingdom and protect the Moonflower? Or will they fail and be swallowed up by the darkness? Players will have to use their wits, knowledge, and alchemical craftsmanship in order to succeed.
