Kunado Chronicles is a captivating post-apocalyptic fantasy visual novel that takes place in a world destroyed by heartless yet determined monsters called Tekki. In this society, constantly threatened by ruin, you find yourself waking up upside-down in a tree after being in cold sleep. Brace yourself, because it's the future, and you have a crucial role to play.

The story unfolds in the year 2034 A.D., when the Tekki emerged and wiped out most of humanity, causing the loss of technology and civilization. Only small pockets of humanity managed to survive in the gaps between Tekki activity. Fast forward a thousand years later, and a hero rises to finally strike a decisive blow against the heart of the Tekki menace.

"The battle for the fate of humanity ended 100 days ago," setting the stage in a country called Kanto. This nation, reminiscent of long-lost Japan, is home to approximately eight hundred empowered individuals. The surviving citizens, known as "nobodies," have built their culture around the struggle for existence, even though the threat has been eliminated.

However, the people of Kanto are left wondering about the meaning of "hope" and "happiness" as they have only known a life of fighting. One day, a young man from a thousand years in the past is awakened to become the protagonist of this tale. Although he lacks personal memories, he possesses the knowledge of ancient civilizations.

In exchange for food, clothing, and shelter, he agrees to bring culture to the kingdom of Kanto, which feels like a different world from his own. The story truly begins after the fight for humanity's fate, as he navigates this strange new life, experiences the coffee shops and paper-money economy, and learns about the qualities and struggles of leadership.

The game features 20 hours of story, offering two branching routes that allow players to shape their own narrative. With Japanese voice acting, the characters are brought to life in a world that has shaped their personalities and perspectives. The protagonist, Shin, must adapt to the rough and less refined culture of Kanto, all while conveying his knowledge and understanding of technology and civilization.

Among the characters, there is Haruhime, the leader of the Eight Swords who holds authority in Kanto. She is a charming and elegant princess with a rare curiosity in her kingdom. Despite being loved by her people, she remains internally timid and lonely.

Shin, the protagonist, is a young man who has spent a thousand years in cold sleep. While he lacks personal memories, he compensates with adaptability and rational thinking. His journey involves conveying his cultural and technological knowledge to Kanto's people, despite the challenges.

Akane and Aoi, known as the Ni-no-Kami of the Eight Swords, are the youngest and strongest fighting force in Kanto. Akane is confident and headstrong, relying on her instincts, while Aoi is a wild berserker who finds satisfaction in battle.

There is also an ordinary person assigned to guard and look after Shin, who possesses exceptional physical strength but lacks battle skills. Over time, she becomes Shin's confidant. Additionally, there is Haruhime's elder sister, the hero of Kanto, who sacrificed herself to free her people from oppression.
