Step into the snug space boots of jett scout Mei and traverse deep space while in torpor in the mesmerizing prologue “0. Embark”. Then, in the feature-film length episode “I. Deploy”, you’ll be the first to explore the mythic ocean planet. You’ll take the helm of a jett and skim up undiscovered coastlines, explore otherworldly woods, and take shelter with fellow jett scouts. As you explore, you’ll need to adapt to new perils, and problem-solve tough obstacles using your jett’s array of scientific tools.

Exploring the Hymnwave

Delve further into the mysterious world in “II. Investigate”, when the assembled jett scout unit gathers on Tsosi Massif to seek out the source of an interstellar siren song known as “the hymnwave” beneath the mantle of Tor, a vast solemn cone. You’ll be introduced to various story threads, many of which are left intentionally dangling by the end of the 2021 campaign.

In the multi-hour segment “III. Adapt”, the scouts explore islands beyond Tsosi Massif, and must learn to endure hardships, evade pursuers, and grapple with massive “kolos” creatures in order to survive.

Exploring the Unknown

Mei then sets out alone in a desperate bid to salvage some hope in “IV. Persevere”. By the end of the 2021 campaign, Mei’s story of courage, wonder, and regret is only partially complete.

The 2023 expansion, Given Time, takes place three years after the events of the original campaign’s ending. Mei awakens from torpor into Ground Control, which is still in hibernation with only one other scout awake, and a weathered jett awaiting outside. It is up to Mei to complete her story and resolve the lingering story threads.

The game’s breathtaking score is composed by Scntfc, with sound bolstered by A Shell In The Pit, Priscilla Snow and Jim Guthrie. The game also features an array of immersive audio and music, with the song “Out Of My Hands” by Jim Guthrie.
