You are put in control of the Companions of the Lance, eight brave adventurers, each with their own unique skills and abilities. The Companions must travel deep into the ruins of the temple Xak Tsaroth in order to retrieve the precious Disks of Mishakal. This is the only way to defeat the Queen of Darkness and restore the balance between good and evil.

On their journey, the Companions will face hordes of monstrous Draconians and other terrors such as Gully Dwarves, giant spiders, and the undead. The most dangerous obstacle of all awaits them at the bottom: the platinum disks are guarded by Khisanth, an ancient black dragon. Only the key to destroying Khisanth will grant the Companions the noble title of Heroes of the Lance.
