The Colonial Defense Force (CDF) is responsible for the security of Earth and its colonies, serving as the only line of defense against the unknown.

In the Icarus System, the most distant colony, contact was lost on March 1st, 2368. The CDF Goliath, a Dreadnought class spaceship, was dispatched on March 3rd, 2368 to investigate. However, the CDF lost contact with the Goliath shortly after it entered the Icarus System on March 12th, 2368. The ship is now presumed to be a ghostship.

In order to assess any potential threats and facilitate a salvage operation, the common practice is to send an Advance Scientific Evaluation Team (ASET) comprised of two specialists from the Colonial Science Division (CSD). You play as Dr. Jake Abbots, who boards the CDF Goliath while your partner, Dr. David Riggs, remains on the CSD Alexis as mission control. Dr. Riggs will provide you with objectives, advice, and assistance throughout the game.

However, things quickly take a turn for the worse as you discover that anything can happen aboard the ghostship.
