Five Dates is an interactive rom-com game where players explore the unpredictable world of digital dating. Players take on the role of Vinny, who has the opportunity to go on five different dates with five potential female matches. Through these dates, Vinny discovers whether it is still possible to find compatibility, chemistry and connection in a world where physical touch is no longer an option.

Vinny, a millennial from London, joins a dating app for the first time while living in lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic. With Five Dates, an interactive rom-com about the unpredictable world of digital dating, he explores whether compatibility, chemistry and connection are still possible in a world where physical touch is no longer an option.

The game is completely live-action and is directed by Paul Raschid (The Complex). It was entirely conceptualized, filmed and developed during lockdown, making it one of the most unique and interesting games to come out in recent years. It features over 7 hours of filmed footage, the most amount of FMV footage in any game, as well as real-time relationship status tracking that influences the story as you play.

The player takes control of Vinny and is faced with the task of navigating the world of digital dating. Throughout the game, the decisions and interactions will either strengthen or weaken the relationship with your date. The relationship scores are calculated from the start right through to the very end and will affect certain scenarios as well as having consequences in the concluding scenes.

The game is set in London and stars Mandip Gill (Doctor Who), Georgia Hirst (Vikings), Sinead Harnett (singer) and Taheen Modak (Two Weeks To Live). The story follows Vinny as he goes on five potential dates, each with wildly different personalities. He must pluck up courage to video date with each potential match, and must make choices and decisions that will define his interactions with each date and their interest in seeing him again.

The player will be presented with branching, multi-directional conversation topics and deep-dive questions that will challenge their own conceptions of attraction and compatibility. Through Vinny’s journey, the decisions the viewer makes for him will define the outcome of the game, which can end with up to ten different outcomes.
