Fate/EXTELLA is a highly anticipated game set in the digital realm of SE.RA.PH, where the Holy Grail War has come to an end. However, the new ruler of SE.RA.PH faces numerous challenges and threats from all sides. The game revolves around the servants, who must form tense and unlikely alliances to prepare for a conflict that could potentially tear SE.RA.PH apart or destroy it completely.

The story of Fate/EXTELLA takes place in a new world unlike any ever seen before. In the virtual realm of SE.RA.PH, masters of digital magic command their servants, which are great heroes and villains from history and lore, to fight in the Holy Grail War. The ultimate prize is the "Holy Grail" itself, also known as the Moon Cell Automaton, a lunar supercomputer with the power to grant any wish.

Although the war has ended and the servant Nero and her master have emerged as the victors, all is not well in SE.RA.PH. Nero's rival servant has already begun an uprising, and a new challenger lurks in the shadows, ready to strike at the heart of SE.RA.PH and tear through reality itself. Nero must prepare to defend her new throne, with the support of her master and a few loyal allies. However, the challenges ahead are not just limited to an ocean of enemies; there is an ancient secret that poses a threat far more terrible than any war.

Fate/EXTELLA: The Umbral Star marks a new stage in the famous Fate EXTRA series. The game features many fan-favorite characters, including the heroic spirits (servants) summoned by the Holy Grail. The gameplay has been transformed into a high-speed action battle, where players go up against enemies and their armies. Additionally, players have the opportunity to delve into the deep story of the Fate series.

One of the key features of Fate/EXTELLA is the collision of various Fate universes. Not only will Fate/EXTRA servants be present, but characters from Fate/stay night, Fate/Apocrypha, Fate/Grand Order, Fate Zero, and other Fate series will also make appearances.
