In the year 1997, you find yourself in a precarious situation. You were once a highly skilled hacker, but now you have contracted a dangerous virus known as the phage. In order to keep yourself alive, you have made a deal with the devil - one hack, one dose of the antiviral medication that keeps the virus at bay. You have nothing to lose except your own life, and so you embark on a journey that will test your skills, your intelligence, and your will to survive.

EXAPUNKS is a game that will take you on a journey through the world of hacking and computer programming. With the knowledge you gain from this zine, you will be able to program your EXAs (EXecution Agents) to tear through networks, replicate themselves, trash files, terminate other EXAs, and leave without a trace.

The game is not just about hacking into networks and causing chaos. You will also have to hack into a variety of other systems, including banks, universities, factories, TV stations, highway signs, game consoles, and even your own body. Each of these systems presents its own unique challenges, and you will have to use your wits and your programming skills to overcome them.
