About Eco Game

Create a civilization capable of stopping a meteor from hitting Earth without destroying the ecosystem in the process, through the use of an eco-game. This will involve working within the existing environment, using the natural resources available, and developing sustainable technology to prevent the meteor from causing catastrophic damage.

Eco is an online multiplayer simulation game in which players must collaborate in order to save their world from an imminent meteor strike. Players must construct and manage their civilizations, balancing the needs of their individual progress with the needs of the environment. Eco is a fully simulated ecosystem with thousands of plants, animals and players, all of which are affected by the player’s actions. By managing their resources and pollution, players must work together to save their world without destroying it.

Players can construct buildings, tend to their farms, hunt wildlife, build infrastructure and transportation, craft clothing, build power plants, and research new technologies. Players can specialize in a craft and trade goods with other players. Players can also establish their own laws and government, with laws being enforced automatically by the game. By drafting proposals to limit certain activities, players can work together to balance their effect on the environment.

Players can use their data collected from the simulation in order to create evidence to support proposed laws. This data can be viewed in heatmaps and graphs, allowing players to analyze the impact of their actions. Players can also create their own currencies, backed either by fiat or resources, in order to grease the wheels of commerce.
