Dorfromantik is a peaceful building game and puzzle where you can create an ever-growing village landscape by placing tiles. Dorfromantik is a peaceful and relaxing building strategy and puzzle game designed to help players take a break from the everyday hustle and bustle. In the game, players place tiles to create ever-growing and idyllic village landscapes. They can explore a variety of colorful biomes, discover and unlock new tiles, and complete quests to fill their world with life.

Players will start with a stack of procedurally generated tiles which they must place one after the other while carefully planning and strategically slotting them into the landscape. Doing so will form various combinations of landscapes such as forests, villages, and water bodies and they will be rewarded with points depending on how well the tile fits. Some tiles may also contain special objects which will give players quests, such as the windmill wanting to border 6 grain fields, the locomotive wanting to be connected to 10 tracks or the deer wanting to inhabit a forest with at least 50 trees. Fulfilling these quests will grant players more tiles and help them expand their landscape.

As they expand the landscape, players can also advance into new biomes and discover pre-placed game objects that give them long-term tasks. Through these tasks, players can unlock new tiles, biomes, and quests. Dorfromantik offers multiple game modes such as Quick Mode, Hard Mode, Custom Mode, and Creative Mode, so players can choose the style of play that best suits them.

Developed by four game design students from Berlin, Toukana Interactive created Dorfromantik with the hope that players will be able to relax and lose themselves in a peaceful, calming world. The developers invite players to provide constructive feedback so they can improve the game and continue to bring more small, original, and high-quality indie games to the market.
