Distant Worlds 2 is a vast, pausable real-time 4X space strategy game that offers a multitude of experiences. Through its complex and detailed world generator, it provides a unique and varied experience each and every time you play. The game offers seven playable factions, each with their own playstyles, and you can customize your galaxy with its built-in game editor.

The game features an expansive universe with up to 2000 star systems and tens of thousands of planets, moons, and asteroids. You can explore these systems, and conduct diplomacy or take part in conquest as you build and expand your empire. Along the way, you will encounter other empires, independent alien colonies, traders, pirates, and space monsters. You can even uncover secrets about the galaxy’s past as you explore.

The game is highly customizable and can be tailored to your preferred playstyle.
