Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition has been expanded with the new content of Knights of the Mediterranean, including two new Civilizations, Italy and Malta, a Tycoon Game Mode, and 8 Historical Maps.

Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition - Knights of the Mediterranean is an upcoming real-time strategy game that promises to bring a wealth of new content to the classic Age of Empires III. Developed by a collaboration between Forgotten Empires, Tantalus Media and Xbox Game Studios, this exciting new game will feature two new civilizations, a brand new Tycoon mode, and eight historical maps.

The two new civilizations of Malta and Italy will bring a unique set of mechanics and strategies to the game. The Malta civilization will focus on defensive strategies, with the use of fortifications, Fixed Guns and Commandery logistics. They will also have access to Fire Throwers and greatswords in battle, as well as the ability to restock Gunpowder Depots. The Italy civilization will be focused on economic strategies, allowing players to utilize Lombard investments and Papal soldiers. They will also have access to shielded Pavisiers, Bersaglieri and Elmetti.

The brand new Tycoon mode is a casual friendly game mode that focuses on economic supremacy over military domination. Players can explore and strengthen their economic strategies to leverage in other game modes throughout the game.

The game will also feature the first ever set of historical maps, which offer endless replayability with a historical twist. The eight maps include The Italian Wars, Eighty Years’ War, The Deluge, Great Turkish War, Great Northern War, Napoleonic Wars, Russo-Turkish Wars and The Thirty Years’ War (MP Exclusive Diplomacy Mode Map).
